The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Thursday disqualified provincial Excise and Taxation Minister Babu Ameen Umrani for holding a fake degree. Petitioner Niaz Muhammad had challenged the degree of MPA Babu Ameen Umrani, who was elected from the constituency PB-29, Naseerabad-II.
The BHC also directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold by-election on the PB-29 seat, besides registering a case against Umrani for contesting election on fake degree. Meanwhile, in another case, the court reserved its verdict over the eligibility of provincial Communications Minister Ali Madad Jattak. The court will announce its verdict on Jattak’s eligibility next week.
