An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted upper parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa on late Wednesday night but no causalities or property loss was reported.
According to geological wing of Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) tremor of 5.5 magnitude on Richter scale was felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Swat, Malakand, Dir, North Punjab and other northern parts of Pakistan.
The people rushed out of their houses in panic, but no causality, injury or property loss was reported due to the earthquake.
According to PMD the epi-centre of the quake was near the Afghan-Tajik border.
