Five killed as jeeps plunges into ravine in Chitral

At least five persons were killed and three others injured when a jeep fell into gorge here on Thursday.
According to police, the jeep with eight persons on-board plunged into deep ravine in Roshan area of Chitral as driver lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road caused by rain and over speeding.
As a result of accident five people were killed on the spot and three others sustained injuries.
The locals and police reached the scene of the accident, pulled up the bodies and injured from the ravine and shifted them to hospital.
The deceased belonged to Chipparri and Kargan areas of Chitral.

  4. It is a very tragic and shocking incident. I want to convey my heartfelt condolance to the bereaved families. we can’t blame the driver beacuse there is no question of overspeeding in that particular area where the vehicle met accident. The road had been badly demaged in many places due to the devastating rain and flood of last year. We have to blame the concerned authority for not taking care of the one and only source of transportation.

  5. I do not have words to heal the crying hearts of those families who lost their children in the said accident of Reshun Chitral. I can understand the pain of those parents who were waiting to see their children, but for never. Please do not feel alone and shattered on the death of your family members. Please convey my sympathy to all family members. Please join me for a campaign to mitigate such happing in future, but who will do and how this is possible? It is the responsibility of our leadership to ensure minimum safety standards for public transport and also ensure road safety standards. Responsibilities should be fixed on the authorities or the transporter who fail to fulfill the minimum safety standards. If there is no accountability or reward and punishment system for good and bad, we can only heal the pain of those families through our sympathy messages. It is not the mistake of those who are traveling on these transport, it is the responsibility of those who allowing them to operative transport without any safety standards.

  6. Very tragic accident, may Allah bless the departed souls in Janatul Firdous and give sabr-e-jamil to the bereaved families of the departed ones, Aamin. Nothing can be said until reports come by the competent authorities determining causes of the tragic accident.
