A huge torrent of floodwater ravaged its way through Chhatar and Lehri into Rabi area of district Naseerabad early Tuesday inundating over 500 villages.
Several people were reported to have been left stranded in the flooded areas of Rabi and its adjoining areas including over 500 villages, disconnected the traffic plying on Sindh-Balochistan National Highway.
Various relief teams started rescue operation in the deluged areas of Naseerabad in concert with the administration.
Had there been active municipalities in all big cities of Pakistan, these type of natural disasters could be handled in a much better way, reducing the loss of resources, life and property. It is a pity that ruling elite considers that giving more powers to city governments will lead to the break up of this country.
