JI slates victimization of PCS officers

Deputy Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has stressed upon the Punjab government to stop victimization of the PCS officers and deal with them in accordance with the law and the constitution.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he condemned the suspension of the PCS Officers Association’s President, Rai Manzoor Nasir, for the eighty time besides the punitive action against some other office bearers of the body. He said, the tussle between the D.M.G. and the PCS officers was not a happy sign and it was promoting biases and grouping, and was a major reason behind the delay in the solution of the peoples’ problems.
He said, the talks between the Punjab government and the PCS officers Association had been going on for quite some time but there seemed to be no headway in that. He said the PCS officers had genuine complaints in regard to delay in their promotions and appointments on administrative posts.
He said the transfers of the PCS officers to far off places, their appointment as O.S.D ’s and their suspensions were totally illegal and unconstitutional.
The JI central leader called upon the provincial government and the bureaucracy to see reason, reinstate the suspended officers and deal with them in accordance with the charter of their service.
