CM directs shifting of rain victims to safer places

Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has directed authorities to arrange for food, shelter and medical treatment for the flood victims.
He issued the directive on Monday in the wake of heavy monsoon rains in the province. Keeping in view the emergency situation due to heavy rains, the grants of leaves of the concerned staff have been canceled with immediate effect. The CM ordered to shift the affected people to safer places and shelter, food and medical treatment be provided to them.
He has also directed officers of the Livestock Department to make prompt measures for protection of livestock and animals in rain affected areas.
He has also directed the provincial ministers, MNAs, MPAs, office bearers
and workers of PPP to take part in relief activities and supervise the relief work so that affected people do not suffer.
Action to be taken against all illegal hydrants in the city: Sindh government has issued orders to crackdown on all the illegal hydrants operating in Karachi.
In a meeting inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, managing director Karachi water and sewage Board (KWSB), Misbahuddin Farid and district commisoner karachi appointed SSP Crimes, Farooq Awan as head of a task force delegated the authority of shutting down all illegal hydrants operating in the city.
Around 40 million gallons of water is being stolen in the city through 108 illegal hydrants daily. IGP and the KWSB would jointly identify and punish those police officials who directly or indirectly facilitate the illegal hydrants in the city
Six persons killed in Karachi violence incidents: Six persons including a police official were killed in incidents of firing and torture in the mega city on Monday.
Police sources said that two persons including a woman were killed in firing by unidentified persons in the Quaidabad area. A youth was killed in Baldia town when motorcyclists opened fire on him. Meanwhile, a tortured body of a person kidnapped two days back was found in Orangi town.
On the other hand four dacoits identified as Mohammad Asif, Suleman, Amjad and Ghulam Rasool were arrested after an encounter with the police. The accused were wanted in a number of dacoity cases.
According to police sources, some unknown men opened indiscriminate firing on a man in sector 11 of Orangi Town and killed him on the spot. The deceased had not been identified yet, but he was assumed to be 30 years old.
On getting the information, police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to a hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, some unknown armed persons opened indiscriminate firing on a police constable Ejaz Hussain at Hassan Square and severely injured him while he was carrying out his duty at the Zardari House in security zone II. Later, he succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital.
In another incident, some unknown armed persons opened indiscriminate firing on a car near Essa Nagri Bridge, as a result of which, one man Mustafa sustained severe injuries.
In yet another incident, unknown armed assailants opened fire on Kashif Imam in the area of Gul Bahar and injured him. The wounded man was shifted to a hospital for medical aid.
Meanwhile, at least 46 criminals were arrested by the District East police station and a heavy cache of weapons, cars and narcotics were recovered from them.
On the directions of SSP Javed Ali Mehar, 12 police station raided various criminal hideouts and arrested 46 criminals who were involved in cases of robbery, street crimes, car and motorcycle theft, drug trafficking and several other crimes.
Police also recovered 5 repeater guns, 16 pistols, 2 rifles, 17 magazines, 110 bullets, one car, one motorcycle, and stolen and gambling money from their possession. SSP Javed awarded appreciation certificates among the policemen for showing good performance during the operations.
