The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) said on Monday that the canals of nine barrages located on the four rivers have been closed down due to the fear of floods.
According to a private news channel, the canals emitting from Guddu, Sukkur, Taunsa and Kotri barrages at the Indus River had been closed down, while the canals of Head Tremo and Head Panjnad at the Chenab River had also been closed down.
The canals of Head Sulemanki and Head Islam at the Satluj River were also closed down.
According to IRSA, Tarbela Dam would be filled completely within two days as the water level was presently measured at 1,548 feet, which was only two feet below the highest level.
On the other hand, the water flow from Mangla Dam had also been reduced to 8,000 cusecs.
