The puppeteers of the National Puppet Theater (NPT) will educate the children from various educational institutions of the twin cities on September 10 while providing informative entertainment as well. The show arranged by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Ministry of National Heritage and Integration would showcase the performance of the puppets on environmental education and social issues, and would highlight different characters in the form of stories to address topics related to the environment, health and education. The colorful puppets and their animated expressions would show concern over the growing menace of pollution and the maintenance of cleanliness in the surrounding to educate children in regard to protecting the environment of their planet earth. The show would also bring folk tales, skits, national songs and regional dances to provide informative entertainment for the children who would attend the event along with their parents.
This show had been a regular feature of the PNCA’s activities for the promotion of culture and traditions among the children who extract entertainment from the movement of the puppets boosting of vibrant costumes and characters, an official of PNCA told news agencies.
The puppeteers would demonstrate their skills of puppetry while guiding the students about various issues in the form of stories, songs, dances and tableaus. Puppet shows had been popular in the form of “Children Theater” that provide entertainment with a variety of puppets made out of a wide range of materials, depending on their form and intended use (evil or good performance) to leave a deep impact on the children’s mind, the official said.
