Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said Monday China is time-tested friend and it has always supported Pakistan in trying time.
“China is our time-tested friend and it has lent support to us in hard time. Pakistan is proud of its ties with China and we want to bolster them further”, PM said this while talking to media men before leaving for China to attend meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF).
He remarked WEF was a significant occasion of meeting among world leaders, economic experts and heads of international donor agencies. “I will discuss matters related to expansion in bilateral ties and cooperation with Chinese leadership particularly with Chinese premier during my visit. Pakistan is eager to boost cooperation with China in the sectors of trade, economy and energy”, he observed.
He went on to say “ Sino-Pak friendship is higher than Himalayas, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey. “I will particularly talk to Chinese leadership on broadening cooperation in the areas of energy and Gwadar sea port”, he indicated.
PM told the media men he would hold meetings with heads of Chinese leading companies and enterprises so that cooperation between the two countries could be beefed up in private sector.
Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafiz Sheikh, foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jillani and others are also accompanying PM during his four days visit.
