Aasia Ishaq, Central Secretary Information of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), has asked the present government not to delay general election, due in March 2013, in the name of local government (LG) election, a statement issued from the central information secretariat of APML said on Friday.
She said that because APML founder and ex-president Pervez Musharraf had introduced this system, her party welcomed the government’s announcement regarding holding of LG election.
She said that APML feared that whether Asif Zardari would delay the general election with announcing local government election. Aasia was of the opinion that if this would happen, the country would face more serious political crisis.
The information secretary said further that the current government got success in every sector where they adopted policies of the former president.
