Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that PML-N was in favour of local bodies election but decision in this regard would be taken after consultation with the party leadership.
He was taking to media persons at Allama Iqbal International Airport on return from London here on Friday.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government during its four and half year rule wasted time in non issues and now when general polls were approaching it was concerned about local bodies election.
He said that thinking about holding local bodies elections in the present scenario is nothing but a tactic to prolong PPP rule by creating delay in general polls.
The Chief Minister Punjab expressed concerns over the federal government performance and said that its all attention is over protecting personal interests and non related issued and no heed was paid towards masses sufferings which were in the grip of multifaceted crises.
