Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) has launched election campaigns as the up-coming general body elections of 2013-14 are scheduled to be held in January. Talking to APP, a prospective candidate for the position of General Secretary and Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Lawyers Forum Sardar Ahmed Iqbal Maken told that the following elections would bring revolutionary reforms and record a new history in the lawyers’ movement.
He informed that there were two names for the top slots of president: Syed Muhammad Anwar Shah and Raja Zahid Mehmood; both affiliated with different political parties and lawyers’ groups. He said that his competitor, Qamar Inayat Raja, was contesting for the post of General Secretary. Maken appealed to his colleagues to caste their votes in favor of a candidate who understood his responsibilities and parameters.
