Two more cases of dengue have been detected in Lahore on Wednesday raising the total number of dengue patients in Punjab to 29 during the current year. According to details, two patients identified as Wali Muhammad 76, hailing from Nankana Sahib and Qasim 23, from Lahore city were shifted to Mayo Hospital a couple of days earlier. According to their medical tests, dengue virus was detected in both patients, thus taking the dengue patients toll during the ongoing year to 29.
Recent reports about the recurrence of the dengue virus in Lahore and at some other places are a matter of grave concern. It is once again gaining momentum and Punjab Govt seems failing to condone it once again. We can’t pin it on federal government, when this is happening only in Punjab. Healthcare was never his priority. While he and his brother go to London for medical treatment, his government allocated virtually nothing for health and education. He has proved himself the most incompetent and dishonest chief minister not only of Punjab but in the history of Pakistan. Despite all the shortcomings of Pervaiz Ellahi, we have to admit that he was a better administrator, and in politics never went to the extent of abusing his political opponents. What a shameful state of affairs. Who is the health minister with a heart so not to resign over his utter negligence over first the shameful dengue fever deaths and now this totally shameful fiasco?
