Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that sports events are the source of providing healthy recreation to the youth as well as besides discovering fresh talent for the national teams and raising the standards of sports in general. In his message to the organisers of the 32nd National Games being organized in Lahore from October 21 -27 the Prime Minster said “ I am sure that the competitions will also produce new talent to join the ranks of national team. Sports represent soft power of a country and it must be our earnest effort to regain our place in the sports map”. He said the present democratic government is committed to provide all facilities to the young sportspersons. “You have to excel in your field by dent of hard work and commit to bring glory to the nation.” The Prmie Minister said that he feels that such competitions should be arranged for our athletes to compete so that they can polish their talent and skill and achieve excellence in their respective fields. “I hope that the forthcoming National Games will attract the best of our talent and also provide a great deal of festivity to the spectators besides cementing inter-provincial harmony,” he added. He wished the organizers success in their efforts and good luck to the participants.
