The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to appear in person on the next date of hearing, in connection with a contempt of court issue. A two-member bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk resumed the hearing of the issue. Azhar Siddique, counsel for the interior minister, apprised the bench that the former judge of the Supreme Court, Justice(r) Javed Iqbal had granted exemption to his client. Justice Nasirul Mulk told him that the respondent was summoned through an order of May 18 in Pakistan Steel Mills and on June 20, he had appeared in person and sought time for the submission of his reply. The counsel pleaded that they required time for the submission of a reply. The bench adjourned further hearing for a date in office.
I WISH HOPE AND REQUEST TO SUPREME COURT TO TAKE SEVERE ACTION AGAINST CONTEMPT OF COURT BY MALIK IMMEDIATELY.
Babar Awan committed contempt of apex court in broad day light. Action against him is eagerly awaited.
