Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said the PML-N will not support weak and toothless Accountability Law.
Talking to media, he said he had not criticised media persons or anchor persons, the only words which he uttered carefully were that from where the heavy amount was being provided for some anchor persons.
“PPP is using public money for this purpose,” he alleged. Nisar further claimed that if the new local bodies system is implemented, local government administrators will control the elections at town level.
“Its [local government issue] a well thought out strategy on the part of PPP,” he said, suggesting the new system was a means to rig upcoming general elections.
Throwing light on the NAB attitude, he said that he is surprised at its character. About 1400 kanal land has been encroached by Bahria Town management by unfair means, adding that he knew about dozens of affectees who had been deprived of their lands. They have original property documents while actually the land is in possession of Behria Town.
He said he had requested the media so many times for highlighting the issue for national interest but it did nothing in this regard.
Commenting on Accountability Law, Ch Nisar Ali Khan said that the government was trying to make the accountability process too difficult and complicated to be implemented.
He said that actually the government wanted to replace the Accountability Bill by a fragile and weak bill which would help facilitate corruption in the country.
Calling the new proposal weak and aimless, the opposition leader said the bill cannot do anything against the corrupt. He added that the points suggested by the PML-N were not included in the draft.
Calling PPP a party that does not listen to the Supreme Court, honour its commitments and constitutional obligations, Nisar questioned how PML-N can negotiate with such a party.
