Rainwater blockage and its accumulation in residential areas has been witnessed in various localities of Rawalpindi, causing immense problems to residents, besides posing question mark on the performance of the concerned authorities.
Many parts of the city including Chongi No 22, Arya Mohalla, Rata Amral, Javid Colony, Pirwadhai, Dhok Saidain, Tench Bhatta Abadi No 2, Multani Mohalla and Pindora Chongi, where streets looked like huge ponds after rain due to blocked sewerage lines.
The rainwater was accumulated in the streets after heavy downpour in twin cities on Tuesday morning.
Citizens said that the concerned authorities should take comprehensive steps to drain out rainwater as accumulated water could turn into ideal breeding places for dengue mosquito.
