Unidentified gunmen killed a retired income tax commissioner Mumtaz Sheikh outside his residence in Defence area of the city on Thursday.
According to police, Sheikh was going somewhere when he was shot dead while the attackers managed to escape the scene.
Police started investigations into the incident.
