Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that President Zardari is using the issue of new provinces for political gains.
While talking to the media outside parliament house Wednesday, he said that government did not take up the issue for the last 4 years.
He said, “There have been three constitutional amendments but no one raised the issue of provinces then.”
Nisar also slammed the recent commission formed for creating new provinces. He said, “New national commission for provinces is national only on paper but in essence it is presided by the spokesperson of the president.”
While supporting the idea of new provinces, Nisar further said, “This is a very sensitive issue and no child’s play.”
He also suggested that the issue of creating new provinces is the prerogative of provinces.
Nisar also criticised Imran Khan for his constant criticism of Nawaz Sharif. Nisar said, “Imran Khan only sees Nawaz Sharif, he forgets the Awami National Party and Pakistan People’s Party.”
