The land routs connecting Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been disconnected due to heavy rain and flood in the mountainous areas of the region on Tuesday.
According to sources, the connecting bridge at Dera Ismail Khan has been damaged and the rainwater coming form the mountainous areas of DI Khan and Koh Suleman has flooded the rainwater channels of Dera Ghazi Khan. Due to the flood, the traffic flow between Punjab and KP has been suspended. Whereas the rainwater has formed lakes in downstream areas of South Waziristan, and the land connection of some areas of the tribal belt, including Channalah has been disconnected from other parts of the country. Several houses have reportedly been affected due to heavy rains in Pahad Pur tehsil. In addition, the main roads of Mianwali and DI Khan roads were blocked while several bridges were also damaged due to flooding from the nearby mountains. The ,main Gul Imam Road connecting Tank with Peshawar was also blocked due to flooding.
