President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the dark forces of extremism, militancy and sectarianism are posing a serious challenge to the integrity of the nation, but no one will be allowed to endanger its existence.
The president, in a message on the Defence Day of Pakistan, said that Pakistan was a moderate, tolerant and peaceful nation, where political choices were made by the ballot.
“Let us, therefore, pledge that we will never allow anyone to endanger our existence as a moderate, tolerant and peaceful nation,” he said.
Stressing an urgent need for clarity of purpose and national unity to confront the challenges, the president said the demonstration of unprecedented cohesion among the people, singularity of purpose at the national level and valour of the armed forces made September 6, a memorable day in the national calendar.
He said that, on this day in 1965, the people from all over Pakistan and representing all shades of opinion joined hands in standing behind the valiant armed forces in thwarting aggression.
“The commemoration of September 6 revives our spirits and strengthens our resolve to defend the country against all kinds of threats and to be always prepared for any sacrifice for its integrity and honour.”
President Zardari said, “We salute the people for their show of unity, the armed forces for their courage to defend the country and also pay homage to our martyrs, who laid down their lives in upholding the honour of the country.”
The president also paid homage to the great sons and daughters, who laid down their lives in defending the national frontiers.
“They sacrificed their lives so that we might live in freedom. They did not die in vain,” the president said and reiterated the pledge to revive the spirit of unity of September 1965 in confronting the new challenges.

SO, exercise your authority, stand behind your words and release RIMSHA immediately. Words are the least effective form of communication. Actions speak.
FREE RIMSHA, the innocent!!!!!!! Stop the nonsense and the delay tactics in the court room. An innocent has had her family and her freedom stolen from her as prosecutors play games with the legal system. An innocent mentally retarded child with the developemental age of a toddler! FOR Shame….

  2. asif ali zardari is a very humble and honest man ,a proper statesman . he is doing everything possible to lead the country out of these difficult times.by the grace of allah ppp will win next elections.

  3. yes i agree with waqas, ppp it seems will win next elections .asif zardari is doing a reasonably good job under the circumstances.

  4. i think the media has been very biased against zardari, ther has not been any aligation of even one rupee corruption against him,and yet they abuse him.it is really unfair.saif ur rehman and nawaz sharif has openly admitted that the cases against him were bogus.

    • Is that so,then why are Zardari and the entire PPP scared s.h.!. less for writing the letters if he is so innocent and wrongfully accused.Wake up you idiot.

      • These cases are there for the last sixteen years and nothing could be proven .No letter could be written during the tenure of a president. Is this too difficult to understand .Mind the language as it reflects the upbringing.

  5. asif ali seems to be a very big hearted man. he forgives everyone .everyone including his opponents are surprised at his very gracious nature.

  6. PPP won elections in 1970 but we lost half of the country.

    Do you know why?

It is because PPP won elections in West Pakistan and not in both East and West Pakistan and conspired to keep Awami League, the party which won majority, out of power.

    Do you know what happened?

Non acceptance of election results by PPP led to the civil war and we lost East Pakistan which is now Bangladesh.
