The Ministry of Interfaith Harmony is working to form a National Commission on Interfaith Harmony to forge unity among people of various religions and sort out their issues in consultation with members of different schools of thoughts.
In this regard, a meeting was held here Tuesday in which scholars and religious leaders discussed the issues being faced by minorities living across the country. Meanwhile, Minister In-Charge for National Harmony Dr. Paul Bhatti expressed gratitude to ulemas and all those people who are supporting to resolve the alleged blasphemy case of Rimsha and hoped that justice will be dispensed with her.
He said all the holy books are sacred for us and no Christian can even think to commit blasphemy against the holy Quran like that the Muslims who respect all the holy books equally including Bible.
“The support and favour extended to Rimsha by the Pakistani People means that they take care of humanity and do not allow any injustice with country fellows,” he said. The country is facing challenges of terrorism, sectarianism, illiteracy, and poverty and it is a high time we should unite to address these challenges by promoting national and interfaith harmony for the sake of peace and prosperity in the country, Dr Paul said.
He urged the ulema to play their role to do some thing aimed at bridging the gap among the different sects and faiths by spreading Islam’s message of forgiveness, tolerance and love to humanity. Spirit of religious tolerance and interfaith harmony is equally important besides the need of forging solidarity among all the faiths, he added.
