Bio-metric system will be installed on Pak-Afghan Torkhum border in the next week to counter terrorism.
Interior ministry has informed Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KP) government on this count. The provincial government had earlier forwarded its recommendations to federal government seeking special steps for elimination of terrorism and restoration of law and order situation in tribal areas.
Interior ministry had decided to introduce bio-metric system on Pak-Afghan Torkhum border and Chaman border and it had installed this system at Chaman border in the first phase.
This system is being introduced at Pak-Afghan Torkhum border in the second phase.
Necessary arrangements have also been made in this regard.
