Former minister of state for environment Malik Amin Aslam Khan on Tuesday contradicted a news item appearing in Pakistan Today titled ‘Wickets begin to fall in PTI’ which said that several politicians including Amin Aslam were considering leaving the party. In a press statement, Aslam said, “Being an independent political entity who lost the previous election with a narrow margin I had the option of joining any political party. However, I had chosen to join PTI because of the party’s stance and struggle and corruption and its bold stance against the war on terrorism imposed on Pakistan.
I remain committed to its stance as long as the party does not compromise on its ideology,” he said. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan told Hamid Mir in Geo News program Capital Talk that he wasn’t bothered about political leaders leaving his party. “I have been very clear on this issue and won’t be blackmailed by any person seeking fulfillment of personal interests. The party tickets will be awarded on merit and any person who disagrees with the party’s policy is welcome to leave it,” he said.

  1. PTI is the only party that is holding open election in party. It is big step towards real democracy as exercised in the western democracy. Those who are scared of openness will leave and there should be no regret.
