Heavy down pour on Monday has raised the level of Nullah Leh raising alarms among the disaster management authorities. According to reports, the rainfall in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi raised the water level in Nullah Leh at Katariyan by 17 feet and at Gawalmandi by 15 feet.
Sources said the water level in Nullah Leh was being monitored and relief organizations were on high alert to cope with the danger of flooding.
In addition, a number of low-lying areas had been inundated to such an extent as to trouble the residents of these areas.
According to media reports, drizzling continued and torrential rain was pouring at regular intervals in the upper parts of the country.
MET forecast said that in the next 24 hours, rainfall was expected in the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and certain areas of Kashmir.
