PPP MNA and National Commission of Human Development chairperson Nafisa Shah, on Tuesday, has said that blasphemy law is misused in Rimsha Masih case.
Talking on point of order in the National Assembly, she maintained that Rimsha case has clarified that blasphemy law is being wrongly used and, therefore, the ministry of religious affairs would take action in this regard.
She said that all political parties including opposition parties and religious leaders must come together to find a solution to this issue, which is creating insecurity among the minorities.
βIt is important to build consensus and recognise that there is a need to find ways to prevent such incidents where poor and disadvantaged communities are falsely charged,β Nafisa Shah added.
The PPP leader said that due to the misuse of blasphemy law it defamed Islam and country abroad.
