Balochistan case: CJ annoyed over AG’s continued absence

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Tuesday, expressing his annoyance over continued absence of the Attorney General in the court, said that the court was left with no option but to call all the federal secretaries.
Iftikhar Chaudhry was heading a three-member bench, which resumed its hearing of the Balochistan law and order case at the Quetta Registry here.
During the hearing, Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Talal Bugti also appeared before the court while the Attorney General remained absent over which the court expressed its annoyance and said that the court was left with no option but to call all the federal secretaries.
The Chief Justice inquired from the home secretary was the son of Amirudin Agha recovered to which the home secretary Nasibullah Bazai said that we made six raids till 3.00 A.M last night for this purpose and added, “As promised I will fulfill it”.
Later, the Chief Justice gave remarks “As you had assured of it, you should have done it—the security of the people is your
responsibility.”
In his remarks, the chief justice said that the federation and the AG were not interested in the issue.
Justice Iftikhar moreover summoned all concerned secretaries for the next hearing.
The chief justice further remarked that the attorney general would not be allowed to enter the courts without permission. He added that the secretaries should be present in the court for their defense.
Moreover, Inspector General Balochistan Police Tariq Omar Khitab submitted a notification to quash shoulder promotions in the court today. Whereas, Chief Justice Iftikhar ordered that all police officers who had been transferred to Quetta and were attempting to reverse the measure should report to the Balochistan government within a week.
