The Governor Balochistan Zulfiqar Ali Khan Magsi called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Prime Minister’s House and discussed with him the current situation in Balochistan with special emphasis on prevailing law and order situation.
Expressing his concern over the prevailing law and order situation in Balochistan, he directed the Governor to formulate a strategy on an emergent basis to ensure security of life and property of the people of the province. In this connection, the Prime Minister assured the Governor of every possible assistance by the Federal Government.
The Governor of Balochistan briefed the Prime Minister on the overall situation in Balochistan including the law and order situation and the status of development projects in the province.
The Prime Minister assured the Governor that no cuts will be made in the projects approved for Balochistan under the Public Sector Development Programme.
The Prime Minister said that Balochistan is one of the top most priorities of his Government and the Federal Government had allocated Rs.6 billion for completion of Kacchi Canal project so that it is completed before the end of the year. The project would irrigate 55000 acres of land on completion.
The Prime Minister directed the Governor that work on Nolan Dam should be expedited and all resources be mobilized so that it is completed as early as possible.
