The outgoing Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Masaharu Sato, has said that Japan and Pakistan enjoy close relations which would continue to improve further for the mutual benefits.
He was speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour by Abdul Kader Jaffer, Chairman Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) and former High Commissioner of Pakistan to UK, at his residence here. It was attended among others by former Foreign Minister Sahebzada Yaqub Ali Khan, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Yaseen Anwar, members of the diplomatic corps, says a statement on Sunday.
Kader Jaffer in his address said Mr Sato who served in Karachi for two and a half years as Consul General and earlier in Japan Embassy at Brunei Daruss Salam has been promoted as Ambassador by Japanese Foreign Ministry. He appreciated the services of Mr. Sato as Consul General in Karachi for further forging close ties between the two countries in all sectors particularly in trade, economic and investment sectors. Kader was confident that Pakistan Japan relations would continue to grow further with the passage of time, the statement added.
