Sabzi Mandi and Sihala Police Islamabad arrested 70 suspects on Sunday during search operations conducted in various localities including sector H-11/3, Sihala, Khutta road, Humak and other slum areas, said police sources.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq had directed the police personnel to keep a vigilant eye on suspected elements.
As per their directions, teams of Sabzi Mandi police under the supervision of SP (Industrial Area) Muhammad Ishaq conducted search operation in their respective area and nabbed many suspects.
These teams conducted special checking of various houses, under-construction buildings, inns and slum areas. The police teams apprehended 70 suspects who were being investigated further for failing to provide any authentic documents of identification to the police.
SSP Farooq had appreciated the performance of the force and directed all police officials to intensify patrolling activities while keeping a vigilant eye on shady elements. He said that the search operation was being conducted to ensure fool proof security in the federal capital.
