Three killed, 38 arrested in targeted operation

At least three persons including a woman were killed in Rangers crackdown against criminals involved in drugs business and gambling dens here late Friday night. More than three dozen criminals were arrested and drugs were recovered.
According to details, Ranger launched operation against drugs sellers and gamblers in Muslimabad area of Landhi, Karachi.
During operation, the criminals resisted and started firing. In retaliatory firing of Rangers, two drugs sellers and a woman were killed. The Rangers also arrested at least 38 persons involved in gambling, drugs selling and other crimes during operation and took huge quantity of drugs and gambling material into its possession. The detainees were shifted to Rangers headquarters for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, police also arrested six alleged criminals from Maripur and confiscated four hand-grenades and six pistols from their possession. Four alleged criminals were also arrested from Mominabad. The residents of Moach Goth protested against the targeted operation conducted by Rangers personnel. They blocked the road by burning tyres. To disperse the protestors, police resorted aerial fire and fired tear gas shells.
