Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani is scheduled to visit Germany from September 03 to 05, at the invitation of her German counterpart, Mr. Guido Westerwelle.
During her visit, she would be holding intensive talks with the foreign minister of Germany on bilateral relations, and ways and means to strengthen them further for mutual benefit of the two countries.
Both would also exchange views on regional, international issues of mutual concern, while also sign an accord related to “Roadmap for Pakistan-Germany Strategic Dialogue”, catering for a multi-sector cooperation framework between two countries.
Soon after arrival in Berlin, the Foreign Minister will deliver a keynote address at the German Council on Foreign Relations on “Changing Regional and Global Environment: Pakistan’s Perspective”.
She would also meet the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Bundestag (German Parliament), Mr. Ruprecht Polenz, and German Defense Minister, Dr. Thomas de Maiziere, besides an interactive session with the German representatives of business community, intelligentsia and NGOs organized by the Koerber Foundation; besides meeting members of the Pakistani community at the Pakistan Embassy.
Germany is Pakistan’s largest trading partner in Europe and also a major source of investment in Pakistan; as over 70,000 strong Pakistani community and more than 2,200 students in German universities serve as an important organic link between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister’s visit will inject further momentum into bilateral relations.
