Thwe Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has decided to shift Bhatta Chowk dumping point to Chakari Road this month.
The cantonment land director has asked the RCB to shift the dumping point outside residential areas. Sources said that RCB had acquired 180 kanals of land at the cost of Rs 90,000 per kanal for a new garbage dumping point at Chakari Road located at the distance of 18 kilometres from the garrison city.
Moreover, a housing scheme was also approved on the site of the current dumping point at a Cantt Board meeting.
Garbage dumping collection point would be constructed at Bhatta Chowk from where garbage would be shifted to Chakari Road via dumpers.
