Punjab Local Government Department has constituted a dengue task force consisting of 15 special dengue teams aided by pest engineers to work in nine towns. Teams are assigned to destroy dengue larva and spray at all CNG stations, patrol pumps, 7083 suspect places where dengue larva could incubate and open spaces.
A training workshop had been arranged for Officers in charge and Members of Dengue task Teams of Local Government Department at Jinnah Hall which was presided over by Director General Local Government Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary. Additional Secretary Local Government Raja Jehangir Anwar briefed that pest engineers have been included in 15 teams constituted to work in nine towns. He added that the engineers will select the procedure and medicines for eradication of dengue larva according to the situation existing on ground. He informed that special teams have been assigned the task of elimination of dengue larva at all CNG stations, patrol pumps, and 7083 places of junk yards, basements, under construction buildings, vacant spaces and unused buildings. All members of the task teams would be provided with protective gears and transport facilities.
Chief Minister’s Programme for Anti-Dengue Incharge Dr Waseem, dengue experts Dr. Asif, Dr. Shabbir and Director General Local Government Nadeem Aslam also addressed the workshop and directed the members of the special teams to bring forth optimum results in the elimination of the virus.
