A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airplane strayed off the runway while landing in Lahore, injuring three people on board. The PIA flight ATR-42 was traveling from Islamabad to Lahore when it strayed off the runway while it was attempting to land. Three people on board the aircraft were injured, including two passengers and a member of the flight crew. More than 30 passengers were traveling on the flight.
The runway at the Lahore airport was temporarily closed due to the crash landing. Earlier Friday, another PIA flight made an emergency landing at the Quetta airport due to a technical fault. According to PIA sources, the flight PK 240 had been travelling from Kuwait to Lahore when it developed the fault. The flight had 196 passengers on board. All passengers and crew members were evacuated from the aircraft safely.
PIA known as Pakistan International Airlines is becoming like "Pray if it Arrives Safely."
This was definetely a pilot error, who landed way off the centre line with neither wings level, nor nose point straignt in light rain with no cross wind. ATR is a brand new aircraft, hardly 5 years old in PIA and landing gears are supposed to withstand normal hard landings. This brings into question allegations that former MD Ijaz Haroon took money for recruitment of pilots, allegation which were proved against him in a similar irregularity in previous induction of pilots in an enquirt report by AVM Mushaf Ali Mir.
@Khoso–I agree but who will carry out these investigations, when CAA itself is headed by a PIA pilot, a crony of A to Z, whom he appointed as MD, or the Minister of Def whose bosses sis was one of the recipients of Jobs For Loot Sale in PIA of over 200 cadet pilots, sales, cabin crew and other cadres. This accident exposes the incompetence of CAA who took 30 hours to clear this small aircraft.
Mr Khoso If you are a pilot you have left much to be desired of your expertise. If otherwise please understand that this is a three wheeler and there is something known as hydroplaning which causes the plane to slide like a cake of soap. The wheels of a plane do not have a power train they rotate freely . However this could have been avoided by an experienced pilot.
The Flight Safety needs to be properly enforced by the MD PIA and CAA should be impartial since such incidents reflect poorly on it
Hundreds passengers with Thai Air were returned back to Bangkok after they were about to land in Lahore. Bloody staff in lahore never told Thai Air onetime. Passengers were flying back n forth all last night.
Shame Lahore Airport Authority…

I think more idiots are Thai airways they can land in any near airport in Pakistan
Cadet Pilots paid Rs5 to Rs6 million each except those who had big connections or were sons of PIA executives.
