Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Chairman Justice (r) Rana Bhagwandas has urged the political leadership of the country to make Urdu language the medium for Civil Service (CSS) examinations. The FPSC has forwarded a set of recommendations to the government in this regard, Bhagwandas said while addressing the launch ceremony of a book titled “Sufi Shah Inayat” held at the National Language Authority (NLA) late Thursday. The retired Supreme Court judge said that the land of Pakistan had always disseminated the message of peace among human beings, and also welcomed outsiders with open hands.
“Sindh remained rich with Sufi poets including Shah Abdul Latif Bhatai, Lal Shahbaz Qalanadar, Sufi Shah Inayat and likewise the land of Punjab was blessed with Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar, Bahauddin Zakariya and Maadhu Laal Hussain,” he said. The Sufi poets have made these areas famous for love, harmony and tolerance, he added. He said that providing justice to people, irrespective of any discrimination, always remained the supreme goal of his life.
