Lawyers across Balochistan held protests, demonstrations and boycotted courts proceeding against the target killing of an additional session’s judge on Friday. The police arrested more than one dozen suspects in connection with the murder.
Additional session judge Zulfiqar Naqvi from the Shiite community was killed by unknown gunmen. His body was carried to Karachi via PIA flight where he was laid to rest at an ancestral graveyard. Lawyers across the province held protests and boycotted the court’s proceedings on Friday. They expressed grave concern over the target killing of citizens, especially Shiite community members and demanded the police to arrest the culprits immediately. The police continued raids and arrested more than a dozen suspects in connection with the murder. The detainees were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
