Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has noticed with regret that 11 year old Rimsha is still languishing in jail. Besides being underage she is also suffering from a serious disability called downs syndrome.
There is little doubt that she is unfit to determine what is blasphemous or not. Extending her remand for another 14 days is a travesty of justice. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf strongly believes that no one should be allowed to injure the religious feelings of anybody and therefore blasphemy laws are necessary. If someone indeed commits blasphemy he or she should be proceeded against under the law, says a press release issued on Friday.
But, in application it is crucial for the law enforcement agencies to proceed with caution and distinguish between genuine cases of blasphemy and those cases where certain people are misusing the law to settle personal scores, or as in this case the accused is underage and handicapped.
The onus thus is on law enforcement agencies to ensure that the application of the law is fair. In this case it does not appear to be so.
I am one of PTI supporters. I applaud your statement of unjust treatment of Rimsha.
However, my question to PTI is "Whether it is "INSAF" to have blasphemy law protecting Christianity and Hindus and all other minorities living in Pakistan as well or not?
On paper many sections of the law protect the beliefs of other religions. unfortunately distortion in the 80s plus its misuse and selective application is what is causing these problems
its a very simple statement but consider to be courageous statement in pakistan.
There should also be a law similar to blasphemy that protects the religion of minorities!!
Protecting a religion is not the job of a state be it Islam, Christianity or Allice in Wonderland.

Ahmed usman do you personally know thus girl to claim that she is mentally stable? Do you know her personality to claim she is immature? Are pakistanis the protecters of islam? Does islam need protection? Will her death by muslim hands satisfy allah? Are crazy man made laws necessary which take away a persons life because of false allegations, justice? Are pakistani muslims more of muslims than arabs? If your answer is no to the last question then why such incidents just in pakistan?

Pakistan needs damage control to protect its democratic system, leave religion out of laws and politics!
Where is Supreme court and its Suo Moto actions when one is desparately needed? How can people be allowed to treat an 11 year old girl like this?

Hello mr Islam, how much week you are , every single extremist Muslim is trying to save you. Very bad. How you can save these foolish people rather you or your teaching are itself not saved. So sad.
