Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has urged the police department to mend its ways and warned that anyone found involved in supporting or backing culprits would not be spared.
He was talking to media persons on the occasion of his visit to two families residing in Samanabad and Hujra Shah Muqeem on Friday, who became victim of police highhandedness.
Shahbaz said that police force is appointed to protect public lives and properties and to maintain law and order; not to terrify citizens through nature of their duty and police uniform.
He also ordered suspension of the prosecutor for negligence in proceedings of Samanabad murder of 20-year-old girl and ordered the authorities to arrest all the culprits within one week.
