Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman on Thursday ordered the field officers to take precautionary steps against dengue virus. In a circular to RPOs, DPOs and all filed officers, the IGP directed them to launch awareness drive regarding controlling dengue. He directed the officers to adopt all possible steps in this regard in police lines, police stations, hostels, training centers, canteens, messes, motor transport wings and store rooms in their respective jurisdictions to keep police force safe from the viral.
The IGP directed the traffic police to play a pivotal role against dengue and distribute awareness pamphlets to the commuters. He directed the officers to make special arrangements of cleanliness in their respective offices and added that directions have been issued to sweepers to immediately remove stagnant water in case of rain.
