Punjab Information Technology Board’s Plan-9 Programme will be inaugurated at Arfa Karim Software Technology Park on Friday. Punjab Information Technology Board Chairman Dr Umar Saif will preside over the function. The programme is aimed at providing assistance in legal, economic and marketing sectors, provision of scholarships and free access to basic infrastructure of IT.
Saif said that Plan-9 Programme will play a fundamental role in the promotion of IT industry in the country. He said that guidance will be provided to the investors through technical assistance of local and foreign businessmen associated with IT sector. He said that PITB was working jointly with the IT experts of Pakistan and the world for training and access to investors’ network in this sector. He said that this programme will also play a basic role in creating confidence for investment in IT sector among the local businessmen and awareness among small and medium enterprises in IT sector.
Initially, launch-pad will be made in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad under talent hunt programme and 15 teams will be selected comprising of the people associated with IT sector who will prepare technology products at Arfa Karim Software Technology Park. Members Advisory Board Khurram Zafar, Badar Khushnood, Babar Ahmed, Jahan Ara, Zia Imran and Zafar Khan will also participate in the inaugural ceremony.
