Devolution process after the 18th Amendment and the progress so far is satisfactory. Government welcomes Foreign Investment in the health sector specially in the interior of Sindh for the laborers & commits to provide facilitation to the International traders and Investors.
This is stated by Secretary Labour by Mr. Arif Elahi in a meeting with US delegation coordinated by Mr. Jonathan T. Ward, Counsul for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Consulate General, Karachi and attended by Mr. David M. Nufrio International Trade Specialist, US Department of Commerce, Washington. Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination Mr. Kaleem Lashari and Special Secretary to Health Department Dr. Suresh also attended and gave a detailed briefing and answered to the various queries by visiting US delegation.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the devolution process after 18th Amendment in Health Sector in the Province of Sindh. They discussed the devolution Process with particular reference to the pharmaceutical industry.
Secretary Labour Mr. Arif Elahi said that Sindh is a land of opportunities for International Investors. The present democratic government realizes that development is linked with the provision of facilities to the masses. In remote areas of Sindh, there is need to have joint ventures with the international companies for provision of health care facilities like establishing hospitals, laboratories and pharmaceutical industries. He also added that Government is taking all the required initiatives regarding this to provide ease at their doorstep.
