Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said there has been a good progress in promotion of higher education and research in the province in order to bring them at par with international standards.
He said here on Thursday that he was taking personal interest towards the betterment of education and research. The governor is also the chancellor of the public sector universities in the province. He said that the vice-chancellors are also striving towards this very goal.
Dr. Ishrat was talking to faculty members of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, who are proceeding to University of Strathclyde of Glasgow, Britain.
He had specially invited these faculty members to the Governor House here.
It was pointed out that during the recent visit of Governor of Sindh to Britain a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Mehran University and the University of Glasgow for collaboration in the realms of higher education and research.
Mehran University Vice-Chancellor Dr Qadeer Rajput informed the governor that his institution had been included among 400 top universities of the world.
