Controversial actor Shia LaBeouf has confessed to taking acid to prepare for a film role. Now the actor, 26, has revealed he went to another extreme for new movie The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. Shia was admamant he did not want the experience to be fake in the scene where his drug-addled character trips on acid. He says: “There’s a way to be on acid. “What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in Dead Man Walking. “These are the guys that I look up to.” Things got a bit intense while filming the acid trip scene on set, as first time feature director Fredrik Bond was not too comfortable with the fact LaBeouf was actually on drugs. Shia said: “Sometimes, it does get real. “Too real for a director who’s trying to keep a diplomatic set.”
