Mian Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, MNA and chairman Sports Board Punjab has pointed out that he along with Director General SBP Mr Usman Anwar are working along with the youngsters of different universities for the better future of the country on the platform of the Youth Festival. He made these comments during a surprise visit to SBP where he checked the working environment of the newly-established IT Centre and also assessed the progress of the work in the holding of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012. The Punjab Youth Festival, which has six phase of competitions, rolled into action throughout the province on August 26 and is being contested among 55200 Sports and Youth Development Councils at Neighbourhood and Village level. After visiting various departments of the sports board, Hamza expressed his pleasure over the working environment of the SBP. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is the future of the country which is working in this IT Centre of SBP and added: “We are all working in a very friendly and cordial manner and they all are very enthusiastic for being part of one of the biggest festival of the world.” The IT Centre is connected with all 137 Tehsils and 36 Districts of Punjab. The SBP has a 24/7 Helpline at 111-333-727 at the IT Centre. “We held a successful Sports Festival earlier this year with people coming from far-flung areas to take part in it and now the Youth Festival is going to set another standard and Guinness Book of World Record will be part of the festival,” he added. He also expressed his hope that this festival is going to be a big success. “We will rectify past mistakes and make this festival a success,” he added.
No change in PYF schedule: There has been no change in the schedule of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 throughout the province and the events and competitions are being held as planned at different Union Councils of nine towns of the provincial metropolis. The Punjab Youth Festival competitions started at the Neighbourhood and Village level on August 26 among 55200 Sports and Youth Development Councils and the event has now entered into its third day.
