Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, will organize a public awareness seminar on health beneficial properties of honey in relation to diseases prevalent in Pakistan on August 30.
An announcement on Tuesday said that Dr M Kamran Azim, Assistant Professor at PCMD, will deliver the lecture at the moot jointly organiszd by PCMD and Virtual Education Project Pakistan (VEPP).
An official of the ICCBS said that the management of PCMD and VEPP would hold a series of popular lectures for public awareness on common diseases of Pakistan, while various lectures on different health issues have already been organized in this regard.
He said that PCMD is providing world class scientific training to the graduate students in the areas of molecular medicine and drug discovery by focusing on the development of new and effective diagnostic and treatment techniques against prevailing diseases.
The center is also fostering scientific collaboration by providing forum for information exchange and joint studies between health related academic disciplines.
Raising general awareness about the diseases and their prevention, cure and treatment is also an important activity of the PCMD, he said. Health professionals, students, research scholars, NGO representatives, and general public have been invited to attend this seminar.
