Chairman Steering Committee Pakistan Muslim League Salim Saifullah Khan has warned that military operation in North Waziristan would be disastrous for Pakistan and the country can not afford further military operations.
In a statement here Wednesday, he highlighted that America in Afghanistan had started negotiation with Taliban to settle peace with them and leave this region as soon as possible but on the other hand Pakistani government was expanding their war boundaries which was beyond understanding.
He said that more than forty thousand people had lost their lives and above five thousand army jawans had sacrificed their live due to war on terror. He said that Pakistan’s economy had suffered more than 60 Billion dollar loss but despite these military and human sacrifices, Pakistan was alone in the international community.
He said that two years had passed after Swat operation, but civilian control was still a question mark over there and similarly same was the situation in Mohmand and Aurakzai agencies where after military operations, situation was worsening with each passing day.
Salim Saifullah Khan highlighted that Pakistan was passing through critical situation of its history and facing multifaceted problems like load-shedding, price-hike, political instability, bad governance, corruption, inflation, unemployment etc which should be resolved on priority basis. He said that not war but dialogue was the only solution to bring about normalcy in the country.
