At least nine security personnel were martyred and several others were injured as militants attacked a security check post located in Bara area of South Waziristan Agency (SWA).
The prompt retaliation by the security forces killed eight terrorists.
According to media reports, the terrorists assaulted the check-post located in Badr area of the Agency early morning, causing fatalities of nine security personnel.
Soon after the incident the security, putting a wide cordon around the entire area, began a search operation.
