MEGA-RICH holidaymakers were fuming when they were banned from their luxury hotel while The X Factor filmed Nicole Scherzinger arriving on a yacht in Dubai. Nicole, who dates F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton, posed at the bow of a gleaming high-speed yacht as it glided into a Dubai harbour for the Judges’ Houses round. The singers in her boys category shouted excitedly as they waited on the jetty to find out who would be mentoring them. But the sequence – which took 90 minutes to film – meant super-rich dignitaries wanting to dock there were asked to keep away until it was finished. An insider said: “Several of the hotel’s residents were kept waiting for more than an hour while they were trying to get back to their five-star suites after an afternoon jaunt. “They weren’t happy – these fantastically rich people are not used to being told they can’t do what they want. “But filming such an ambitious entrance takes a long time and the hotel were more than happy for The X Factor to take over the jetty and the harbor until they had everything they needed.” Nicole waved to her category as the boat pulled up in front of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, voted Best Hotel in the World. She was accompanied by R&B singer Ne-Yo. The insider added: “It was a hell of an entrance – it’ll be TV gold when it’s eventually shown.”
