Doctors in Balochistan on Monday vowed to continue their strike and not to be cowed down in the face of any pressure. Addressing an emergency press conference at the Civil Hospital here, Pakistan Medical Association Balochistan (PMA) President Sultan Tareen said the doctors’ strike would continue until they were provided full security.
Tareen observed that the government had failed in giving protection to the masses and doctors, as kidnapping for ransom had turned into a lucrative business in the province. The PMA Balochistan president alleged that some government functionaries were also involved in abductions for ransom, adding it was due to the worsening law and order in the province that the doctors were forced to migrate from here. “The strike and peaceful protest will continue until the demands are met,” he added.
